Trap adjusments after New Releases
New releases in GOW continue to drop at an incredible rate. As a result of this, you will see traps that were previously unburnable, start to take multi-billion power hits within the first hour or two of a new release. So how do you know if your trap still works? What needs to be done to keep it current?
TYPE OF NEW RELEASE
First lets take a look at the new release. If it’s a new building release, plan on it being done fairly quickly, unless it requires a new material.
New research requires a bit more detail, before you can be exactly sure how to adjust. Some things you should be looking at, are:
- What types of boosts are being added
- Increase of Attack/Heath/Defense/Defense Debuff
- What level of the tree starts showing largest increase in stat percentages.
- Cost of completing the tree.
If you watch your alliance chat and ask your rally leaders, you will likely know quickly how expensive the new release is. This should give you a pretty good idea of what is to come and how fast.
New research tends to be very expensive, but you can expect some rally leaders to have the first 3 or 4 levels done within the first hour or two. If you think the new release wont make much difference (highly unlikely), or your account should still be ok, it’s time to test.
TESTING AFTER A NEW RELEASE
When you test, do everything exactly same as you would, if it were a regular rally. If you normally boost, make sure you are using the same ones.
It’s best to be tested by someone who has agreed to do so, and is willing to share how much of the new release they have completed. This should give you a pretty good idea of where your at.
ADJUSTING AFTER A NEW RELEASE
If you did burn, or need a bigger boost than what you are comfortable with, it’s time to make some changes. Some things to look at:
- Were the reports close
- Did you burn bad
If your reports were close, the adjustment may be just as simple, as adding a few more troops. If you burned badly, your stats are most likely being debuffed, or need to be improved somewhere. Often times, the research in the new release, is what you are looking for. The first two or three levels is often good enough to counter the higher stats from rally leaders, for 2-3 weeks.
Finally look at your SH as a complete system and patch up the weak links. Common places that may need adjustments are:
- Building Boosts
- VIP Level
- Completing Research on Older Trees
You are the expert on your account. You are the one who has built it, so no one can tell you exactly what to do. Build it to fit your play style, so that new releases, do not stop you from having fun. Over the next couple of days, we will be posting detail information, on how to build different types of traps. Once completed, links will be added here, that will take you directly to the trap of your choice.
